Yarra Valley Singers

THE CHOIR

Yarra Valley Singers was founded in 1988 by Elizabeth Maile beginning with 20 members. Today Yarra Valley Singers, directed by Belinda Gillam Derry, has about 100 members across two choirs, and continues to grow. Choir members do not need to audition or be able to sight-read to join. However, as most songs are in four parts (soprano, alto, tenor and bass), it is important that members are able to hold a part.

A committee of volunteers manages the choirs and a fee is charged each term to cover the hire of the rehearsal venue and the cost of the music.

OUR MUSIC

Our repertoire includes a wide range of genres and styles including contemporary, popular, musical comedy, ballads and folk music to opera, classical and sacred choral music.
