Yarra Valley Singers

Yarra Valley Singers was founded in 1988 by Elizabeth Maile beginning with 20 members. Today Yarra Valley Singers has about 100 members across two choirs and continues to grow. Choir members do not need to audition or be able to sight-read to join. However, as most songs are in four parts (soprano, alto, tenor and bass), it is important that members are able to hold a part.

A committee of volunteers manages the choirs and a fee is charged each term to cover the hire of the rehearsal venue and the cost of the music

Our music covers a wide range of genres and styles including contemporary, popular, musical comedy, ballads and folk music to opera, classical and sacred choral music.

In 2018, a second daytime choir was established under the direction of Belinda Gillam Derry and supported by the talented Amanda Millar on keyboard. The daytime choir is held on Tuesdays in Montrose and the evening choir on Wednesdays in Lilyale . New members welcome.

Yarra Valley Singers celebrated their 30th Anniversary in 2018.
